Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:45am - 4:45pm, Friday 8:45am - 3:45pm (flexible working available)

Job Overview:

As a Senior Project Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting all capital expenditure process enhancements and plant improvement schemes at our clients Colors Shotton site. Reporting to the Manager of Shotton Projects, your responsibilities will span from initial project concept to final implementation and operation, ensuring adherence to our clients Engineering Standards, HSE guidance, and Codes of Practice. When required, you will also deputise for the Projects Manager.

As the Senior Project Electrical Engineer you will lead a team of project engineers, focusing on safe working practices while providing engineering and technology support to plant engineers and manufacturing teams. Additionally, you will maintain up-to-date knowledge of engineering equipment developments and liaise with various stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

Key responsibilities

Key responsibilities include but not limited to the following duties:

  • Undertake design, development, procurement, installation and commissioning responsibilities, as part of the project procedures.
  • Prepare detailed governance structure, project plans and progress reports.
  • Development of detailed engineering requirements and specifications for plant /process improvements and enhancements with supporting risk assessments, management of change documentation, process safety considerations and hazard/operability considerations (HAZOP'S).
  • Prepares detailed project plans and progress reports.
  • Adherence to relevant sections of our clients Standards, HSE guidance and Codes of Practice.
  • Leads and manages a team of project engineers, design draughtsmen and contractor employees engaged in site work specific to the projects, with the focus on safe working practices.
  • Provides engineering and technology support to plant engineers and Manufacturing Teams.
  • Maintains an up to date knowledge and awareness of engineering equipment developments and applications, specific to the job, and for the requirement of ongoing personal professional development.
  • Has a direct reporting responsibility to the Manager for Site Development Projects.
  • Liaises with Project and Engineering functions from other businesses within our clients network as required.
  • Compiling cost and resource forecast data.

What you will need

  • A HNC/HND or degree equivalent in an appropriate discipline
  • Medium to Heavy Industrial experience
  • Experience in the planning and implementation of capital projects and the management of external contractors is desirable.
  • You should have excellent budget management skills, comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental Management knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with excellent problem-solving abilities, are essential
  • You should be capable of working effectively at all levels within the organization and have a strong understanding of risk management and construction regulations.
