About the Role

Are you ready to bring your HR expertise to a fast-paced, dynamic environment? We're seeking an HR Generalist to join our team in Peterlee. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with leaders at all levels, from your immediate team to senior leadership, while making a real impact in a manufacturing environment.

With a diverse range of responsibilities, no two days are the same. You'll support and collaborate with internal teams, as well as interact with external partners, gaining valuable experience and building your professional network.



Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for a designated business area, building strong relationships with managers and employees.
  • Provide support on HR processes including grievances, disciplinaries, and employee relations matters.
  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements, offering solutions to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
  • Utilise and maintain HR systems (Workday, Office 365, and Beeline), with a strong emphasis on reporting and analytics through tools like Power BI.
  • Collaborate closely with team members, including business partners, a communications specialist, a student placement, and occupational health teams.


Ideal Candidate Profile

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2+ years of HR experience, particularly in handling grievances, disciplinaries, and other core HR processes.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 and HR systems such as Workday.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build rapport quickly and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • CIPD qualification is a must-have.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in the manufacturing industry or similar fast-paced environments.
  • Familiarity with Power BI for data analysis and reporting.

Soft Skills:

  • Self-starter who can integrate quickly and work independently.
  • Strong team player who values collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-changing environment.



Working Hours and Location

  • Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 08:00-16:30; Friday, 08:00-12:30
  • Location: On-site, Peterlee (5 days per week, non-negotiable)


Interview Process

  • 1st Stage: 30-minute Teams interview
  • 2nd Stage: 1-hour face-to-face interview
