A major manufacturing business based in Flintshire is on the hunt for an experienced Buyer to join their team. If you are an experienced Procurement professional whos looking for a true career development opportunity then look no further!

Key responsibilities:
Develop and enhance sourcing strategies to create cost-effective contracts and services that align with operational needs.

Lead supplier development efforts, optimise costs, negotiate agreements, and draft contracts in line with business requirements.

Conduct market analysis, review supplier performance, and negotiate competitive rates on a range of products and services.

Manage sourcing tools and processes to support key stakeholders within the organisation.

Collaborate with finance and operational teams to ensure budgetary compliance and cost optimisation.

Work closely with various departments, including engineering and logistics, to provide procurement support across all functions.

Assist in the implementation and continuous improvement of SAP procurement systems and ensure adherence to proper procedures.

Foster collaboration across teams to ensure procurement operations align with company policies and contractual agreements.

Regularly review supplier performance to ensure contracts, services, and pricing remain competitive and relevant.

Knowledge, Key Skills & Qualifications:
CIPS qualification (or working towards it) or equivalent procurement experience.

Strong commercial acumen and understanding of procurement operations within a focused purchasing team.

Proven ability to drive cost savings while maintaining high service levels.

A proactive and analytical mindset, with the ability to challenge existing processes and drive cost analysis initiatives.

Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage senior decision-makers and build long-term relationships.

Excellent problem-solving abilities, capable of handling multiple procurement projects both independently and within a team.

A self-motivated and dynamic approach, with a drive for professional growth.

Experience working across various teams to review and improve procurement processes and systems.

Familiarity with SAP, Excel, databases, Sage, and other purchasing platforms to enhance business performance.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, strong attention to detail, and data entry accuracy.
