Accountant / Finance Business Partner

Seymour John is actively recruiting on behalf of a leading international client based in Shrewsbury. The role has been created to support the finance team as they start a new finance system implementation.

In this broad and varied role, you will support the technical and business partnering teams in ensuring the day to day running of the finance function is not impacted whilst certain team members are supporting with the new system implementation.

The role is based in Shrewsbury and my client is open minded to hybrid working with a maximum of 2 days per week working from home.

Main duties:

  • Provide support to the Finance Business Partners to deliver reports to the EU companies on business performance and modelling / planning.
  • Ensure compliance with all finance policies and controls
  • Be responsible for the co-ordination of payroll information to be sent to the payroll outsource partner. Review and sign-off amounts with Director of Finance and arrange payment submissions (incl. PAYE, NI, pension and other deductions) by due dates. Lead on the set-up/ closure of starters and leavers on the finance systems.
  • Ensure quarterly reporting statements for group consolidations (eg intercompany balances/ transactions) are submitted accurately and in accordance with group timetables.
  • Manage the accounting for Rent, Rates and Utility costs for the EU business including the allocation of shared site and shared support costs
  • Take responsibility for maintaining the Asset Register across all EU companies, ensuring accurate and correct coding of all expenditure and depreciation. Continue to develop CAPEX reporting capability and circulate to business leaders, Finance Business Partners and group.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the Finance Business Partners and the Director of Finance as required.

You will be an experienced finance professional who is able to start within a few weeks coupled with a willingness to commit to the initial 6-month contract which would likely be extended due to the timetable for the system implementation. Previous knowledge and exposure to system implementations would be highly beneficial.

In return you will work for a international client offering hybrid working, 25 days plus stats holiday, matched pension scheme and a early finish on a Friday.
