We’re currently looking for an experienced, career-driven Audit Senior to join a progressive firm based in Shrewsbury, led by an experienced team who champion modern accountancy practices.

The right candidate will be keen to develop an all-encompassing audit skillset whilst supporting a varied client portfolio. Job Purpose
  • Support the delivery of audit assignments from planning to completion in high-risk areas
  • Co-ordinate onsite activity and oversee junior staff during fieldwork
  • Plan and project manage a varied portfolio of audit clients, including leading audit assignments
  • Review statutory accounts, corporation tax computations and returns
  • Finalise completed audit for Partners’ review
  • Converse clearly and effectively by using computer software including IRIS, Sage, Xero and QuickBooks
  • Support junior staff by reviewing work and knowledge sharing
  • Liaise directly with clients, building strong rapport and proactively handling queries
  • Work to client expectations, budgets, and deadlines
  • Promote services to existing and prospective clients
  • Champion your own professional development, proactively learning from the experienced team
  • Supporting the wider firm with ad hoc duties as needed

The Successful Applicant
  • ACCA or ACA qualified, finalist or studying, with at least 3 years’ previous experience within practice
  • Solid understanding of UK audit regulations
  • Experience using Careware and Inflo is an advantage, but not essential
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Sound IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office applications
  • Self-motivated and reliable who is eager to progress
  • A strong work ethic, time management and organisational skills
  • Enthusiasm to learn from an experienced team
  • Hands-on attitude towards building client relationships
  • Able to work confidently with senior team members
