Castlefield Recruitment are working exclusively with a Housing Association in the West Midlands in order to recruit a Capital Accountant, on a permanent basis. My client has a number of interesting projects on going at the minute and need more capacity in the team. This role offers flexible working and a salary of up to £50,000.

Role:As a Capital Accountant you will work closely with the Head of Finance to manage the accounting for capital budgets and fixed assets.Duties will include;

  • Providing analysis and advice to the Head of Finance on the potential implications of proposed changes in accounting policies    
  • Supporting the Head of Finance in the production of the annual statutory accounts
  • Assist in the production of the balance sheet with regards to the assets and deferred capital grants 
  • Responsibility for overseeing the asset register including disposals, additions, depreciation, forecasting, correct classification and monthly reconciliation 
  • Preparing the capital reports for the monthly accounts pack and producing the capital cash flow and forecast

Person:The successful Capital Accountant:

  • Experienced in capital accounting, fixed assets accounting or component accounting (essential)
  • Social housing experience (essential)
  • Fully qualified - CIMA/ACCA/ICAEW/CIPFA (desirable)
