Robertson Bell is excited to partner with a prominent organisation in the housing sector, to recruit a Fixed Asset Accountant on a permanent basis. This role will play a vital part in managing the organisation’s fixed asset register and financial accounts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

In this role, you will:

  • Take ownership of the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate monitoring of acquisitions, disposals, and component accounting across the organisation.
  • Liaise regularly with asset teams, combining data from various sources and breaking down contracts into component parts.
  • Provide key information to external Auditors and oversee reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to senior management.
  • Work on adapting processes to align with new financial standards and enhance data accessibility.

This role offers a flexible working arrangement, with one day per week their Shropshire office. You’ll also enjoy a generous holiday allowance of 27 days plus three extra days at Christmas and bank holidays.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be fully qualified or nearing final stages of ACCA or CIMA, with a strong drive to complete their qualifications.
  • Ideally have experience in component or fixed asset accounting or a strong familiarity with financial reporting standards, particularly IFRS 102.
  • Possess strong Excel skills, including pivottables, SumIfs, and XLOOKUPs, with a willingness to enhance these skills further.
  • Be resilient, proactive, and confident in chasing for information and raising issues when required.
  • Demonstrate experience in managing large volumes of data, preferably within the social housing sector or a medium-to-large organisation.
