I am working with a well established and growing business in Shrewsbury who are seeking an experienced Group Financial Controller to join their senior leadership team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a results-driven finance professional to play a key role in ensuring financial stability, delivering timely reporting, and driving process improvements across the group.The RoleReporting directly to the Group Finance Director, the Group Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organisation, leading a dedicated finance team, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role offers significant scope for strategic input and collaboration with senior operational leaders.Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the production of monthly management accounts across all business units.
  • Manage cash flow planning for all subsidiaries.
  • Lead stock finance management and audits.
  • Work closely with operational leadership to develop annual budgets and financial plans.
  • Conduct quarterly reforecasting to support strategic decision-making.
  • Produce weekly financial data reports to track key performance metrics.
  • Monitor and report on monthly financial and operational KPIs against targets.
  • Ensure accurate monthly stock reporting and inventory control.
  • Act as the primary contact for external auditors, ensuring smooth and timely audits.
  • Oversee VAT, CIS, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all group companies.
  • Support operational teams as a Finance Business Partner, providing financial insights and guidance.
  • Carry out additional finance-related tasks as required.

The CandidateThe ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a strong background in financial leadership. Experience in multi-entity financial management, cash flow forecasting, and regulatory compliance is essential.
