Alexander Daniels are recruiting for an experienced Management Accountant to join a successful finance team. This role involves support the Finance Business Partnering Manager in the day-to-day financial activites, as well as delivering a customer focused finance service. This opportunity is 1 day a week onsite in Shropshire and offers flexible working hours.

Key Responsibilities -

  • Production of timely monthly and quarterly management accounts for areas of responsibility and other financial information to facilitate a financially efficient organization.
  • Assist with the consolidation of accounts to facilitate Group reporting and monitoring, as required.
  • Support the IT team with the production of the 5-year Capital Programme and comment on its impact to the approved Business Plan.
  • Preparation of annual budgets and forecasts for areas of responsibility in conjunction with budget holders.
  • Support the Head of Finance in the production of subsidiary statutory accounts, including Independence Trust Limited, as directed.
  • Preparation and submission of timely and accurate financial returns, where required.
  • Actively promote continuous improvement throughout the Group maintaining a proactive and customer-focused service delivery.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of accepted accounting practices, principles and procedures
  • Knowledge and experience of management accounts and statutory accounts preparation and support, budget monitoring and variance analysis reporting
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. excel, word etc)
  • Sound knowledge of internal audit principles
  • At least two years' experience providing accountancy services in a medium to large sized organisation
  • Experience in supporting and advising budget holders to develop budgets
  • Experience of working with external care service commissioners to monitor and report in line with contractual financial targets and performance measures
  • Experience of utilising a computerised financial system
  • Experience of tracing transactions from a management information system to an accounting system and vice versa
  • Experience in presenting complex financial information and providing financial information and advice to a wide range of audiences
  • Experience of organising own workflow order to meet deadline
  • Demonstrates a logical and methodical approach with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work on own initiative without detailed direction
  • Demonstrates an analytical approach

Qualifications:

Part-qualified CCAB qualified (ICA, ACCA, ICMA, CIPFA) and/or qualified by experience.
