Management Accountant

My client a £100m+ group seeks to recruit a finance lead to take ownership for a subsidiary with a turnover of approx. £25m based in Somerset. In this role you will oversee and control the accounts function acting as a conduit between the SLT based onsite and the wider group finance function.

Due to the nature of the role it is essential that you are a visible presence on-site in Somerset. As such there is an expectation to be on-site 2 days per fortnight. All travel and relevant accommodation will be fully expensed.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant who is comfortable being the business contact lead in the subsidiary and will add value through the individual’s capability to collaborate relevant financial and non-financial information to aid in management decision making.

The post holder will be the first POC for day-to-day queries, assist and own delivery of the budget process, prepare the management accounts, assist and own the year end audit and provide high quality information.

Responsibilities

• Month end / year end processing

• Management accounts to first draft for presentation

• Budget tasks ownership

• Audit tasks ownership

• Miscellaneous reporting as required

• Balance sheet reconciliations

• Depot reporting packs

• Business partnering

Candidate Requirements

• Persuasive communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to trouble shoot effectively

• Ability to prioritise tasks and work autonomously

• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook,)

• A high level of proficiency in Excel is a requirement to be successful in this role

• Business Partnering capability - getting things done through others and being the Finance contact for the subsidiary.
