Recruit4staff is proud to be representing their client, a leading steel company in their search for a Machine Operator to work at their facility in Shrewsbury.
For the successful Machine Operator our client is offering:
- Up to £13.00 per hour DOE
- 2 week shift rotation - Week 1 & 2 - Monday to Friday, 6am – 2:30pm. Week 3 & 4 - Monday - Thursday, 12:00pm - 10:30pm
- Temporary to Permanent position
- Training and Development opportunities available
- In house licence will be provided
- Profit-related bonuses & attendance bonuses after qualifying period
- 29 days annual leave including bank holidays
The role - Machine Operator:
- Set up and operate CNC sawing equipment to cut aluminium and stainless steel to customer specifications
- Read and accurately interpret order sheets
- Read and accurately interpret technical drawings to determine cutting requirements
- Select appropriate saw blades, adjust cutting speeds, and position materials for precise cuts
- Use forklift to collect own materials to load the CNC
- Check quality of finished products.
- Monitor sawing operations to ensure accuracy, quality and adherence to safety protocols
- Performing daily maintenance checks of metal saw
- Maintain a clean and organised work area
What our client is looking for in a Machine Operator:
- Previous experience operating a computerised machine in a manufacturing setting- ESSENTIAL
- Ability to work from blueprints and drawings - ADVANTAGEOUS
- Previous experience driving a counterbalance forklift - ESSENTIAL
- Previous experience working within the steel industry would be beneficial
- Physically fit to lift heavy materials
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
