Job Summary:

My client is looking for a friendly and professional Telephonist to join their team on a 3 Month FTC which may become a permanent position. As the first point of contact for incoming calls, the Telephonist plays a crucial role in creating a positive impression for our company. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle a high volume of calls in a polite and efficient manner. The Telephonist will route calls, take messages, and provide basic information to callers.Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming calls promptly and courteously.
  • Route calls to appropriate departments or individuals.
  • Take detailed messages and ensure timely delivery to relevant staff.
  • Provide basic information to callers and address general inquiries.
  • Maintain a log of calls received, transferred, and missed for record-keeping.
  • Monitor and manage the phone system to ensure calls are answered and managed in a timely manner.
  • Handle call overflow during busy periods or when other team members are unavailable.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed, such as scheduling appointments, updating contact lists, and organizing call logs.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by providing a professional, efficient, and positive interaction.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous Experience: Proven experience in a similar telephony or customer service role preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills, with a friendly and professional phone manner.
  • Customer Service Orientation: A focus on delivering high-quality service to every caller.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency with phone systems, including handling transfers and voicemails. Familiarity with CRM systems is an advantage.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to manage a variety of inquiries and resolve or escalate issues as needed.
