Our client is an established consultancy specializing in environmental reporting, data analysis, and forecasting for professionals in the architecture, planning, and development sectors. Due to ongoing expansion, they are seeking a dynamic Business Development Executive to enhance their sales team in Shrewsbury.

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and energetic Business Development Executive to join our client’s sales team. The role involves engaging with new and existing clients to drive business growth and manage sales processes effectively. Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will be a crucial part of the team, working full-time from their Shrewsbury office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Engagement: Make and receive calls to qualify leads, arrange meetings, and follow up on sales opportunities.
  • CRM Management: Utilise the Insightly CRM tool to set up and manage company records, contacts, opportunities, and projects; oversee the sales process and follow up on client meetings.
  • Inquiry Management: Oversee online chat and manage enquiries inbox and info inbox to ensure timely responses to all inquiries.
  • Client Coordination: Serve as the link between the sales team and project delivery teams, keeping clients updated on project progress.
  • Administrative Tasks: Handle invoicing, payment processing, and order record-keeping.
  • Performance Tracking: Assist the Sales Manager in tracking sales team progress and performance against set KPIs.
  • Business Growth: Drive the acquisition of new clients and foster repeat business from existing clients.
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with current clients and key accounts.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Communication: Excellent communication skills with a strong telephone presence and a proactive approach to handling client inquiries.
  • Sales Experience: Demonstrated experience in B2B sales, preferably within a small to medium enterprise (SME) environment.
  • CRM Proficiency: Experience managing sales processes through CRM systems.
  • Sales Strategy: Ability to craft and execute a personal sales strategy, with a proven ability to close deals and build lasting client relationships.
  • Industry Knowledge: Willingness to acquire knowledge about the property industry and the role of environmental reports in planning and development.
