We are seeking a dedicated 1-2-1 Teaching Assistant to work with a KS1 pupil at one of our client's specialist schools in Shrewsbury. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact by providing the tailored support a pupil needs to succeed academically and socially.About the Role:As a 1-2-1 Teaching Assistant, your focus will be to provide specialised support to a KS1 pupil with complex needs and severe visual impairments. You'll help them engage with the curriculum and participate in learning activities, ensuring they have the tools and support they need to progress.- Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a KS1 pupil with severe visual impairments and complex needs- Assist with adapting learning materials and developing strategies that cater to their individual needs- Work closely with the class teacher to ensure the pupil has access to a broad and inclusive curriculum- Support the pupil's independence, confidence, and social development within the classroom- Foster a nurturing and positive environment, where the pupil feels supported and encouragedWhat We're Looking For:- Proactive, adaptable, and passionate about working with children with special educational needs- Experience working with children with visual impairments or complex needs is desirable, but not essential- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents- Patience, empathy, and a calm approach to supporting a child's learning journey- A team player who thrives in a collaborative and inclusive school settingWhat We Offer:- Full-time, term-time only role (Monday to Friday)- Professional development and training to help you grow in your career- A supportive and dedicated consultant supporting youTo Apply: Send your CV and cover letter or apply belowWe look forward to welcoming you to our team!
