Teaching Assistant

Reed Further Education are working with an education provider in Shrewsbury who are looking for a teaching assistant on a temporary ongoing basis. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.Job Title: Teaching AssistantPosition: Monday and Tuesday - 8:30 - 16:00Role type: Temporary OngoingLocation: Shrewsbury, SY2Rate: £13p/h - £15p/h including holiday payResponsibilities:

• Support, supervise, and report on the learning and holistic development of individuals or small groups of students.
• Provide on-course support (e.g., general in-lesson support, note-taking, assistance with practical tasks).
• Offer off-course support (e.g,, helping students move safely, encouraging integration into College activities).
• Liaising with teaching staff and other relevant personnel to cater to individual student needs.
• Assisting with the development of student independence and involvement in College activities.

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum Level 2 qualification as a Teaching Assistant - desirable
• Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English & Maths
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour
• Experience working with adults/teenagers or children with special education needs
• Excellent administrative and organisational skills
• Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Reed Compliance
