About The Company

They are a well-established electronics company based in North Shropshire. We have been designing, developing and manufacturing electronic products for the automotive industry for over 30 years.

Starting in summer 2024 this is permanent position, working as part of a highly motivated team to secure our market position into the future.

Role and Responsibilities

The job would involve all aspects of designing new products to add to the companys existing range -

Predominantly the design of automotive battery management equipment including switch mode DC-DC battery chargers and voltage converters - and occasionally liaising with customers to design products to their requirements, including designing electronic circuits, transferring information to electronic circuit software and providing files for sub-contract PCB production.

The company also does a lot of loom and wiring harness work so the successful candidate would sometimes need to produce drawings or samples from customer schematics or samples.

The role will also involve

Maintenance, modification, repair and calibration of computer-controlled test equipment

Organising the testing of the products including writing test programmes and creating test sequences. The voltage ranges from 5V DC up to 100V DC. The power ranges from 2 Amps up to 100 Amps.

Building prototypes

Creating part lists, production drawings and mechanical drawings

Building test rigs and equipment.

Candidate Requirements

Previous experience within a similar role

Working knowledge of Raspberry Pi and Python (ability to write Python code an advantage)

Good attention to detail

Must be able to work alone, as well as part of a team

Self-motivated
