A leading house builder and Construction Company are looking to recruit an experienced Architectural Technologist / Technician to join an expanding in house design teamto work from the Shropshire office.

The role:
An experienced Architectural Technologist/ Technician

This wide-ranging role represents a fantastic opportunity for ambitious Architectural Technologist/Technicians to further their career, working on projects in the residential sector, on bespoke one-off residential properties through to larger strategic sites along with projects in the commercial and education sector.

The successful candidates will play a vital role in the delivery of our development pipeline and will join a small team that provide a wide range of technical support to the business including the development of the standard house type designs and specifications, the supervision of external professionals who input into planning and technical approvals, co-ordination of engineering and services information, the management of planning and building regulations submissions as well as supporting construction through the delivery process.

The business will provide support and training necessary to assist the successful candidates develop the skills associated with this challenging role.

Principal duties will include: -

Production of site layouts and house type planning drawings

Production of working drawing and standard detail packages

Production and maintenance of drawing registers

Production of marketing and conveyance plans

Submission and monitoring of planning and building regulations applications

Liaising with Technical, Commercial, Procurement and Construction colleagues

Liaising with external consultants, civil and structural engineers, planning and building control officers, NHBC inspectors as required

Attending internal and external meetings as necessary in the performance of your role

Undertaking any additional tasks as may reasonably be required.

The Person:

Qualifications, skills and experience: -

Degree or HND/C in Architectural Technology (or equivalent). Applications will be considered from applicants without a Degree or HND if they have extensive experience.

Strong working knowledge of ArchiCAD and Microsoft Office applications is essential, with experience in Twin motion, Photoshop & InDesign a bonus.

Knowledge of local and national planning policies

Thorough knowledge of current Building Regulations

Knowledge of NHBC/LABC Warranty Standards

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to multi-task, identify priorities and proactively deal with issues

Self-motivated, with the ability to work with minimal supervision, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Experience within the UK house building industry
