We are looking for an experienced and strategic Operations Director to join our leadership team. This is a pivotal role, working alongside fellow Directors and Shareholders to lead our change management programme and shape the strategic and operational direction of our practice. You will oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, regulatory compliance, and high-quality client service. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a key part in driving the growth and success of the business.
Who you will be reporting to?
Marie Bramwell is DY’s Managing Director. She began her journey with DY as a student placement in 1995! After graduating, she returned to the firm and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2001. She then managed the Tax Department from 2001 to 2005, served as Operations Manager from 2005 to 2006, and was promoted to Operations Director in 2006. In May 2019, Marie was appointed Managing Director
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the firm’s mission, values, and growth objectives.
- Operational Management: Oversee workflow refinement, resource allocation, and technology adoption to enhance efficiency and productivity, working closely with the IT and Innovation team.
- Team Leadership & Development: Line manage Operational Departmental Managers, set and achieve KPIs, and inspire teams across departments to maintain excellence.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and maintain the highest levels of service quality.
- Client Relationship Management: Equip teams with the skills and tools to strengthen client relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
- Financial Oversight: Collaborate with the financial team to manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and identify cost-saving and revenue growth opportunities.
- Change Management: Lead and drive change initiatives to improve processes and enhance operational capabilities.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a senior operational role, ideally within an accountancy practice or a similar professional services environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- A strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
- In-depth knowledge of accountancy practice operations, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- A relevant professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) is preferred but not essential.
