Court of Protection Solicitor Full Time, Permanent£40,000 - £60,000 DOEShrewsburyHybrid working (2 days at home, 3 in the office)Flexible hours An exciting full-time opportunity to a join a Legal 500 firm with an established presence across Shropshire and Wales. We are seeking an ambitious qualified solicitor, ideally with at 1 years PQE to join its team and assist its diverse client base across both the UK and internationally. This role offers hybrid working (2-3 days from home), onsite parking, high-quality work and excellent career progression opportunities. Main duties and responsibilities:
  • To provide a high level of legal advice and assistance relating to Court of Protection matters to the clients of the firm.
  • To provide litigation support, together with managing an independent caseload, some of which might include contentious Deputyship work.
  • To provide comprehensive legal advice and representation to clients and family members, within the context of the Mental Capacity Act and other relevant legislation, supported by a Supervisor.
  • To support the management of Property and Affairs Deputyships, working with brain injured and vulnerable clients, Personal Injury Trust creation and management, Welfare Deputyship applications and other associated applications to the Court of Protection.
  • To draft letters and written submissions.
  • To attend clients in their homes, at hospitals and care/nursing homes.
 What we need from you:
  • Qualified Solicitor / Cilex
  • Previous exposure and experience of working with vulnerable people.
  • Under appropriate supervision experience of handling discrete matters
  • Demonstrable experience of providing clients with quality advice and guidance.
