Zest Education are currently recruiting for a Secondary School based in Shrewsbury who are in need of a Teacher of Design Technology.

The role:
The role is set to commence after the Easter Holidays and continue until the end of the summer term. There is potential for a Permanent offer at the end of this period for the right candidate.

Requirements:

  • Qualified to degree level or above
  • Possesses QTS status or equivalent
  • Experienced teaching DT in a Secondary School
  • Experience of continually improving teaching practice to increase student achievement and process
  • Good and proven record of strong classroom and behavior management
  • Knowledge of the curriculum
  • Understanding of teaching strategies needed to establish a good working relationship with students
  • Knowledge of the current legal requirements surrounding the safeguarding and wellbeing of children and young people

Responsibilities:

  • Promote progress and outcomes by pupils
  • Ensure pupils are motivated, inspired and challenged
  • Observe the highest standards of health and safety and make sure that the pupils are observing this too
  • Plan and teach well-structured lessons
  • Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils
  • Make accurate and productive use of assessment

Zest Education are an REC audited agency and are dedicated to safeguarding children. All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.

The role advertised is for temporary supply work.
