JOB ROLE: Headteacher (Special School)

LOCATION:West Midlands

SALARY:55,000 per annum

Panoramic Associates is currently supporting a Special Education school based in the West Midlands to facilitate the appointment of an experienced and visionary Headteacher to lead the school's mission of delivering exceptional education and care for students with diverse needs. Within the role you will help deliver the schools new curriculum and assess teaching and learning to ensure embedded. There may also be a requirement to teach on an adhoc basis.

Overview of role responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day to day running of the school and be the registered Head teacher with Ofsted.
  • Establish and sustain high-quality teaching across all subjects and phases, based on evidence.
  • Create a culture where pupils experience a positive and enriching school life.
  • Establish and sustain the school's ethos and direction together with the Board of Directors/Educational advisor and through consultation with the school community.
  • Ensure that the policies and procedures adopted by the directors are fully implemented and followed by all staff.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that information is transmitted to central support service in an accurate format and in accordance with agreed time-scales and that an effective communication system operates within the school.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Evidence of successful experience as a leader in a school in challenging circumstances.
  • Thorough understanding of Ofsted inspection framework including an excellent knowledge of the independent school standards.
  • Experience of working in a SEN environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of successful line management and staff development
