Are you an experienced HR Advisor looking to work within a supportive business in a varied role where you can make a difference to everything HR?

The Company

Seymour John are delighted to be exclusively supporting our client to hire an HR Advisor into their HR Team. This well-established business are looking to employ a self-starter who thrives in a varied role and supporting the wider business.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Group HR Manager, where your duties will include:

  • Responsible for the preparation, checking and submission of the monthly payroll information to the company’s payroll bureau.
  • With the support of the Group HR Manager, advise line managers on employee relations, performance management and HR best practices.
  • Maintain accurate employee records on the HR, Time & Attendance (T&A) and Self-Service systems.
  • Coordinate the recruitment and selection activities
  • Supervise the HR Administrator and Receptionist/Admin Support
  • Manage the new starter and leaver activities and maintain accurate temporary worker records and agency recruitment files
  • Support the Group HR Manager in managing discipline and grievance procedures including conducting investigations and taking meeting notes.
  • Investigate, book and coordinate training courses.
  • Oversee the fuel cards process for the company vehicles.
  • Assist with performance management activities
  • Assist with updates to the company’s policies and procedures, and the employee handbook in-line with legislation, best practice and company changes.
  • Oversee absence management and ensure that accurate records are maintained.
  • Assist with the production of HR management reports and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Act as Apprentice lead, support and mentor office-based apprentices
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by your manager or other senior management.

Personal Profile

The ideal candidate will already be a professional HR Advisor or HR Coordinator with experience in a similar role, who is understands the importance of collaboration and ethical practice, pays attention to the detail and is able to communicate confidently with people at all levels. Ideally you will hold, or be working towards, a recognised Level 5 HR qualification.

Benefits and Hours

  • 23 days annual leave per year, plus the bank and public holidays, increasing with service
  • Normal hours of work are 8.45am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday (36.25 hours per week) with an unpaid break of 1 hour for lunch.
