Are you an experienced Town Planner looking for your next exciting challenge?We are currently working with a well-established planning consultancy in the Shrewsbury area that is seeking a talented Senior Town Planner to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to advance your career while working on a diverse range of planning projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage planning applications from initial submission through to determination.
  • Provide expert advice on planning policy, legislation, and regulations to clients.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and representations to local authorities.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout projects.
  • Conduct site assessments and planning appraisals.
  • Support junior team members, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Contribute to the preparation of strategic planning documents, reports, and feasibility studies.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant planning policies and legislation, ensuring that projects are compliant with current regulations.

Skills & Experience:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Town Planning or a related field.
  • MRTPI accreditation (or working towards).
  • Proven experience in the UK planning sector, ideally within a consultancy environment.
  • Strong knowledge of planning legislation and policy, with the ability to apply this knowledge to real-world scenarios.
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in mentoring and supporting junior staff is desirable.
