Senior Development Engineer - Shrewsbury (Hybrid) - Up to £44/hr - Inside IR35 - 12 month initial contract

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Senior Development Engineer to join a prestigious team in Shrewsbury, UK, working on interesting military programmes from NPI through to current in-use products.

Technically challenging projects on Military powertrain products with a variety of tasks. This role offers the chance to be at the forefront of technological advancement, providing significant career development opportunities and the ability to work on inspiring projects within an esteemed company.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead planning and costing of verification and validation engineering programs.
  • Create detailed test plans (DVP&R) for complex components and assemblies.
  • Conduct rig/dyno tests and produce technical reports on findings.
  • Perform complex data analysis on test results using both hand calculations and simulation software.
  • Present findings in stakeholder reviews across various departments.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced engineers and communicate technical information effectively.

What You Will Bring:

  • An accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in a development engineer role, with a focus on engine, transmission, or driveline development.
  • Experience in product testing of components or complete assemblies.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills on complex products or systems.
  • Data analysis/Problem solving ability. Analytical skillset – Understanding and reducing data in an efficient manner.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships.
