This growing manufacturer is looking for an Interim Manufacturing Manager to manage, coordinate, and oversee the manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the manufacturing processes, implementing continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining high-quality standards.

Based in the Shropshire area, this company is a well-established manufacturer with a global presence, providing market leading products to a broad customer base. This is a key role which will incorporate cross functional collaboration and allow you to drive sustainable change in this business.

Description

This is role will be centred around developing and driving process and operational improvements in order to deliver best possible capacity, capability and costings. A big part of this role will be ensuring the business adopts a LEAN approach across the manufacturing operation, developing the best practice culture and driving efficiency and safety.

  • Oversee daily operations of the manufacturing unit
  • Manage the Production & Engineering departments
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with industry regulation
  • Analyse, assess and drive the operational performance of the plant
  • Drive new Process development including a continuous improvement system and automation improvements.
  • Champion Quality excellence and right first time methodology
  • Manage capex projects from concept to implementation and validation
  • Lead and developing the manufacturing team's skills
  • Champion and cultivate an accountable and agile culture
  • Work closely with the others to ensure the company achieves its profitability objectives
  • Demonstrate strong, inclusive, and visionary leadership, promoting an environment which encourages communication, engagement, team working and continuous improvement
  • Coordinate with other departmental managers to optimise production output
  • Implement strategies to improve productivity and efficiency
  • Ensure safety standards are met in accordance with company policy

Profile

A Manufacturing Manager within a high volume, fast paced operation with automated processes, available for an imminent start. The successful applicant will also should have:

  • A proven track record of managing, motivating, empowering and developing individuals and teams to deliver against business objectives
  • Strong knowledge of continuous improvement, manufacturing process improvement or operational excellence
  • A proven track record in delivering exceptional customer service and quality standards
  • Expertise in delivering benchmark OTIF performance gained within a high volume manufacturing business
  • Exposure to successfully leading semi automation, multi-functional projects would be advantageous
  • Excellent leadership and team management capability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions under pressure
