Your new companyHays are working with a reputable business in Shrewsbury who are looking for a Account Manager on a permanent basis. The client is looking for a driven sales professional who can join them in achieving ambitious sales growth.Your new roleAs an Account Manager

  • Meet or exceed agreed monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals, profit margins and activity targets.
  • Manage and retain a portfolio of existing customers at agreed sales and margin growth targets whilst developing new profitable clients.
  • Maintain the relationship at all levels within the customers to ensure on-going customer satisfaction.
  • Visit accounts on a scheduled basis; create and deliver account development plans.
  • Develop new revenue streams from new products and services from within the Arrow product portfolio, while optimising income from existing lines.
  • Gather intelligence on competitors.
  • Research new business opportunities, identify likely sales points, develop strategic plans and sales strategies, and undertake presentations to and negotiate with prospective customers.
  • Work with our Lead Generation and Appointment Making Team, to successfully win and develop new accounts.
  • Prepares sales proposals using existing templates as required by the customer/prospect.
  • Demonstrate company products to prospective customers and lead discussions with them concerning the ways in which the products solve their problems or meets their requirements.
  • Formally present proposals and presentations to prospects and customers.
  • Production of required reports in a timely manner.
  • Ensure CRM system is kept up to date and opportunities are logged and followed up assiduously.
  • Participate wholeheartedly in Company and Team Sales Meetings.
  • Ensure customer complaints or overdue accounts are brought to a satisfactory conclusion.

What you'll need to succeedIn order to be considered for this role you will need experience in

  • Valid UK driving licence.
  • Minimum of two years proven progressive experience in face-to-face business development.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience in using CRM, ideally with Salesforce and Phocas/Sales-i but not essential.
  • Experience with the sale of consumable items to B2B End Users is essential.
  • Strong business development and customer support skills with a proven track record in managing clients and winning business.
  • Self driven and self motivated desire to close the deal and get results.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and nurture customer relations.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Strong financial management skills and clear understanding of margin importance
