Community Older People's Mental Health Team - Occupational Therapist

Temporary part time registered Community OT B6 to support the Dementia Team at Hall Court Telford or Severnfields Health Village, Shrewsbury.

Candidates must be a car driver and able to travel in own vehicle, mileage paid at 40p per mile.

This is a part time role, 3 days to be discussed at interview (flexi) for 12 weeks to start as soon as possible working via Direct Engagement (247). Role requires a candidate who has experience visiting patients within their own homes. Previous community MH health experience is valuable. The environment is fast paced and challenging, however, highly rewarding. If you have any suitable candidates please forward their CVs.

Main Duties

  • Provide specialist Occupational Therapy Assessments and interventions.
  • Provide specialist consultative knowledge and support to the MDT.
  • Work flexibly, Take responsibility for your own caseload of service users and occasional care coordination. There will be balance between generic and profession specific work, including a team duty role.
  • Liaising with various stakeholders both written and verbally. This role with require you to create new and imaginative ways of communication.
  • Your role will involve working closely with other agencies, families, carers and local communities.
  • You will be able to function autonomously in multidisciplinary teams, with supervision from the Clinical Lead and support from specialist Occupational Therapists as well as the wider team.
