As the sole agency supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of maintenance trades & support operatives, this is a long-term temporary contract, with a starting rate of £13.10 including holiday pay.

Your new roleAs part of the security team, you will be responsible for assisting with the safety and security of the establishment, where your duties will include escorting building contractors. You will ensure the safety and security of the visitors, staff and prisoners within a prison establishment, while people from outside of NOMS are on site. You will also ensure that no unauthorised persons or items enter the establishment.

What you'll need to succeedNo formal qualifications or previous experience is required for this role. The nature of the role requires candidates to be security conscious and able to challenge potential compromises and risks. You will also need to be reliable and consistent, level-headed and have exceptional interpersonal skills.

Successful applicants will have a background in customer service or security, and will be assessed based on the following competencies: acting with integrity, respecting others, building relationships and team work, communicating effectively, developing self and others. Full training is provided by the establishment/ department. Training time will be paid at the standard hourly rate.

All applicants will be subject to the HM Prison Service Security Clearance procedure, which can take up to 4 weeks. This can include a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check. You must hold a Valid Passport or Birth Certificate & Photo-Driving Licence at your current address. All applicants must be able to provide details of 3 years of ex-employer references.What you'll get in return£13.10 per hour (Inclusive of holidays)Weekly Pay (Every Friday) Clearance to work within Prisons across the UK.
