Your new companyHays are working exclusively with a public sector organisation who are looking for an experienced Finance & Payroll Officer to join their team in Shrewsbury. This role could either be full-time or the organisation would also consider part-time and if so the role would be more focused on PayrollYour new roleYou will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for employees, with duties including:

  • Responsible for processing end to end payroll for a monthly paid employees
  • Managing time and attendance records
  • Managing starters and leavers and benefits
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation
  • Resolving payroll queries
  • Investigating discrepancies
  • Payroll year-end
  • Payroll analysis
  • Finance duties

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in payroll and knowledge of UK payroll regulations and taxation.
  • Confident in Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel and ideally Sage payroll.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Transport required due to location
