Role Overview:
Opus People Solutions on behalf of Shropshire Council is we are seeking a highly organized and motivated Administration Officer to join the council's dynamic administration team. We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Administrator this position involves supporting various financial functions within the council, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and processing of financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with council policies and procedures.
- Support the monthly and annual financial reporting processes, including reconciliation of accounts.
- Respond to financial inquiries from staff and stakeholders, providing guidance and information as needed.
- Assist in budget preparation and monitoring, ensuring adherence to financial regulations.
- Contribute to audits and compliance checks, ensuring all documentation is accurate and accessible.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a financial administration or accounting role is preferred.
- Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
