The Continuous Improvement Engineer is a critical role within our Engineering & Manufacturing department, driving operational excellence through the implementation of lean methodologies. This role is based in Shrewsbury and seeks a proactive and innovative individual who thrives on making a positive impact on operational efficiency.

Description

  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and other appropriate methodologies (e.g., Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping, 5S).
  • Ensuring that delivery of continuous improvement projects and activities maintain full compliance with health and safety and environmental, risk assessments, procedures and good practice
  • Collaborate with the various teams to analyse existing processes and identify areas for improvements
  • Conduct thorough assessments of current workflows, procedures, and systems to pinpoint inefficiencies and cost-saving possibilities.
  • Work with Operational teams to develop effective solutions to address underlying issues, minimise waste and identify cost saving possibilities.
  • Carry out fact finding and analysis to produce useful data and insights for use in continuous improvement activities and decision making
  • Provide guidance and feedback to others in the use of continuous improvement tools and techniques in the context of the project or activities
  • Support the development and implementation of quality management systems, including undertaking audits and lead ISO audits.
  • Establish a comprehensive record-keeping system to demonstrate compliance with ISO standards
  • Help lead and drive the Lean Six Sigma program within HIAB UK/I
  • Liaise effectively with colleagues using a range of verbal and written media. Interact with others in a way that builds trust and respect and influences positive outcomes and behaviours.

Profile

A successful Continuous Improvement Engineer should have:

  • A relevant qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within the Industrial / Manufacturing industry
  • In-depth knowledge of lean methodologies and continuous improvement techniques
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
