About the Role:

We are seeking a number of enthusiastic and committed Supply Maths Teachers to join a network of schools across Shrewsbury. This is a fantastic opportunity for qualified teachers looking for flexible, short-term, or long-term work. Whether you prefer part-time or full-time hours, there are a variety of assignments available in different schools within the Shrewsbury and surroundingarea.

As a supply teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality maths lessons in the absence of the regular class teacher, across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will manage classroom behaviour, support student learning, and ensure lessons are delivered in line with the schools curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective maths lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies.
  • Follow lesson plans and adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of students.
  • Assess and support students to help them achieve their academic potential.
  • Build strong relationships with students, staff, and school leadership teams.
  • Be adaptable and flexible, working in a variety of school environments.


Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed).
  • Experience teaching mathematics at secondary school level.
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for maths.
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
  • A positive, initiative-taking attitude and the ability to adapt quickly to different school settings.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong collaborator.
  • An enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to undergo a check).


As members of the REC (Recruitment & Employment Confederation) and Umbrella body to the DBS, (Disclosure & Barring Service) Excell Supply is committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children.
