Our client, housing association is looking for a temporary SDAS Support Worker for 35-hours per week.

The role involves a mix of home, office, and community working, depending on client needs and caseloads. Applicants must have experience in a similar support role and full access to a car, as travel across Shropshire is required.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • To establish and maintain support for those experiencing or who have experienced domestic violence and abuse and who are over the age of 16
  • Maintain an effective support service with the aim of enabling the survivor to develop the skills and resources necessary to move on from abuse and maintain independence and self-reliance
  • To undertake risk assessments and risk management, including the development of safety plans and referral of appropriate cases to MARAC
  • To offer appropriate support, both emotional and practical, including safety planning, support through civil and criminal court action and welfare rights
  • To support the transition and resettlement from temporary accommodation into safe and independent living via housing association properties or private rent with support of rent deposit schemes
  • Where appropriate to support the transition to alternative Refuges
