Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled steel fixer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in structural steel work, demonstrating proficiency in both welding and the use of various hand and power tools. Overtime, Housing, Travel all paid.
Duties
- To position and secure steel reinforcement bars or steel mesh to reinforce concrete structures
- Read and interpret plans/drawings and schedules for the job.
- Set out the work from these instructions.
- Assemble the reinforcing bars or mesh by use of correct tying wire into predetermined locations prior to concrete pour.
- Fabricate steel reinforcement such as beams, pile cap, columns or special units.
- Be familiar with the use of jigs.
Experience
- Proven experience as a steel fixer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Familiarity with roofing systems is advantageous.
- Mechanical knowledge is essential for troubleshooting equipment and processes.
- Experience with commercial driving may be beneficial for transporting materials to job sites.
- Previous exposure to masonry work is considered a plus.
- Candidates should demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
In addition to the hourly rate they offer the following:
Housing allowance paid weekly at 350, also travel allowance is paid for driving to and from site.
22.50 per hour with 30 days holiday paid and pension. Overtime is 33.60 per hour and Sundays is 45 per hour.
