Morson Talent are working with a significant player in the Energy Sector who have a current requirement for a Technical Resolution Engineer to join their established team. All work is associated with a major infrastructure Project in the South West. This is a (renewable) contract position, inside IR35.

The successful applicant will a key member of the wider Technical Engineering Group within the Joint Design Office (JDO) and will manage the resolution of emergent design issues that span several work areas. The role will give visibility of a wide variety of topics across the Project with an open remit to solve technical issues.

Scope

  • You will be responsible for supporting the management or delivery of technical solutions to emergent transverse works issues. The issues will become more MEH issues with greater safety case implications as the Project progresses.
  • Building relationships across, Joint Design Office – Review & Acceptance (JDO R&A), JDO DT, Responsible Designer, Project Managers, Contract Managers and the construction contractors.
  • Interfacing with Total Cost of Ownership PWR Function (TCO PWRT) or TCO Safety Case team, where necessary.
  • Identifying and implementing initiatives to improve project delivery.
  • Participation in Configuration Management Board meetings.
  • Contributing to the reporting of Joint Design Office KPIs.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience

In order to succeed in this role, you must possess good communication and presentation skills and feel comfortable liaising with a variety of stakeholders across the wider business.

Additionally:

  • A degree in Engineering. No specific engineering disciple is necessary, although Civil engineering is desirable at this stage of the project. (It’s important that you have an understanding of design models and engineering drawings).
  • Project experience within a highly regulated environment desirable
  • Be resilient, adaptable and have a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Be able to work and act autonomously.
  • Be pragmatic and practical in your approach to developing solutions.
  • Be able to demonstrate an ability to resolve straightforward issues of low complexity/risk in own technical discipline/area autonomously.
  • Be a competent user of Microsoft software and AutoCAD
