The Opportunity

Due to this, they are looking to expand their team, and are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their team working on supporting key nuclear projects at Hinkley Point C.

Your responsibilities will be
- Demonstrable experience and capability in the delivery of projects requiring the creation of large project teams with multiple elements on a cross discipline and/or multi supplier basis.
- Drive the delivery of the contract or package activities to ensure they are delivered safely, on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements. Monitor and manage the progress of the programme - track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget and provide key stakeholders with reports on these matters.
- Anticipate, manage and resolve issues within the contact or package. Identify risks and facilitate the resolution of all issues raised, develop and update the programme budget.
- Lead and motivate a team of assistant project managers.
- Plans, manages and delivers the larger and more complex long-term projects that will significantly affect the client organisation, and which will deliver strategic benefits to client and/or stakeholders.
- Undertake all contract administration activities (with support of a Commercial Manager) including variations, claims, technical queries and instructions.
- Provide sufficient over site of the Tier 1’s supply chain to ensure Nuclear Safety is maintained – This could involve over 100 Tier 2 and 3 international suppliers per contract.
- Resolution of issues during the manufacturing process to ensure quality and schedule are maintained.
- Management of all change to the contract including - scope definition, business justification and implementation of agreed change in line with associated governance.
You will have the following qualifications and experience
- Experience in a senior / lead project management position.
- Implementation of project management and organisational skills, which has been gained through practical experience and preferably recognised with a qualification.
- Experience in managing suppliers and key stakeholders.
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills, able to communicate effectively and interact with senior managers.
- Exceptional people management skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence and work collaboratively within complex, internal and external, multidisciplinary groups.
- Ability to display and communicate a logical thought process, with excellent analytical skills, including capabilities for budget analysis and forecasting.
- Member of the Association of Project Managers or able to demonstrate an understanding of the APM project management Body of Knowledge principles.
