Job title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Thorn Baker are working with a popular, award-winning civil engineering contractor who are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a large-scale civils project in Bridgwater. Our client are looking to bring someone in on a permanent basis. We are looking for someone who can support the Commercial Team. 

What we are looking for:

• Degree level education or relevant experience in a similar position
• Knowledge of NEC contracts
• Proficient user of Excel and other Microsoft Packages
• Construction experience, specifically civil engineering is preferred 
• Strong verbal and written communication

Responsibilities:

• Produce monthly cost value reconciliation reports
• Ensure any commercial risks are identified and managed accordingly 
• Provide support to the commercial team 
• Compile forecasts and attend forecast meetings
• Supply chain management
• Maintain relationships with clients
