About the Role

About Hinkley Point C
Hinkley Point C, the first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years, is located in Somerset. It will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs, and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy. Hinkley Point C marks a significant milestone in the revitalization of the UK's nuclear power industry, making a major contribution to reducing carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:
• Ensuring compliance with quality assurance requirements.
• Providing dimensional control during the erection of equipment.
• Producing As-built surveys of equipment foundations, including cast anchors and embedded plates.
• Providing certified and calibrated surveying equipment (depending on contractual arrangements).
• Ensuring all survey equipment is in calibration and maintaining a log of field checks carried out at regular intervals.
• Using your core experience and surveying skills to assess the practicalities and dimensional control associated with surveying activities.
• Conducting layout surveys prior to equipment arriving on-site for layout of temporary and permanent equipment. Continuing to support the installation teams to finally locate equipment and conducting post-install location surveys for as-built drawings, ensuring compliance with designed tolerances.
• Ensuring all surveying activities are undertaken safely and responsibly, in accordance with CDM Regulations.
• Providing input for progress reporting on surveying activities within the Erection Area.
• Reviewing supplied setting out data to check design coordinates against the site grid system for compatibility.
