Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an HGV Technician at BARRY IVES (HAULAGE) LIMITED located on-site in Sible Hedingham.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Maintenance and Repairs
- Perform routine maintenance and servicing of both the company and customer fleets
- Conduct diagnostic assessments and troubleshoot vehicle issues
- Prepare vehicles for MOT tests, ensuring compliance with legal standards
- Carry out running repairs to ensure the fleet remains operational
Additional Duties
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within set timeframes
- Maintain a safe and tidy working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Perform other workshop-related tasks as directed
Qualifications
- Previous Experience as HGV Technician/Mechanic
- Ability to diagnose and repair vehicle faults effectively
- Possess Troubleshooting skills
- Must be able to work on Saturday mornings (paid as overtime)
Team Collaboration and Reporting
- Ability to collaborate with team members as needed to complete tasks
- Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
- Report directly to the Workshop Manager regarding job progress and any issues identified
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 8.00am - 5.00pm (40 hours per week)
- Saturday mornings: Required (overtime paid at time and a half)
- No shift work is involved
