Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an HGV Technician at BARRY IVES (HAULAGE) LIMITED located on-site in Sible Hedingham.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Maintenance and Repairs

  • Perform routine maintenance and servicing of both the company and customer fleets
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments and troubleshoot vehicle issues
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT tests, ensuring compliance with legal standards
  • Carry out running repairs to ensure the fleet remains operational

Additional Duties

  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within set timeframes
  • Maintain a safe and tidy working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Perform other workshop-related tasks as directed

Qualifications

  • Previous Experience as HGV Technician/Mechanic
  • Ability to diagnose and repair vehicle faults effectively
  • Possess Troubleshooting skills
  • Must be able to work on Saturday mornings (paid as overtime)

Team Collaboration and Reporting

  • Ability to collaborate with team members as needed to complete tasks
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Report directly to the Workshop Manager regarding job progress and any issues identified

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 8.00am - 5.00pm (40 hours per week)
  • Saturday mornings: Required (overtime paid at time and a half)
  • No shift work is involved
