Our client is a successful and growing firm of chartered accountants and business advisers, based in north Kent/London border.

Due to their current growth plans, they are now looking for a full-time AAT Level 4-qualified Accounts Senior to support their Audit and Accounts team with various client services.

About the role

This role would suit a diligent and ambitious, looking to take the next step in their career. Reporting to the Managers, the Accounts Senior will provide valuable support with accounts, tax and audit activities, as well as a number of key administrative and internal tasks.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Preparing accounts for a portfolio of clients across the region, including from a variety of client’s systems - Sage, Xero and QuickBooks etc;
  • Preparing corporation tax computations;
  • Actioning queries raised by accounts and tax managers on the drafts accounts and tax computations;
  • Attending clients’ premises as required, finalising accounts and corporation tax computations following client meetings
  • Acting as a point of contact for clients for ad hoc queries;
  • Providing training, guidance, and support to junior members of the team as required, making suggestions for updating and improving the department, the firm’s systems and processes.

What about you?

The ideal candidate will be AAT Level 4 qualified, with a recent general practice background and proven experience of supporting owner-managed small to medium businesses. They will have prior knowledge of accounts preparation, including statutory financial statements, while excellent IT skills are also required.

The position would suit someone with strong interpersonal and organisational skills with experience of delivering a quality service. The person should be motivated to work independently in a role with tight deadlines and be able to produce high-quality and accurate work.
