The PMLD Teaching Assistant JobWe are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced PMLD Teaching Assistant to work with young students with profound multiple learning disabilities. You will provide one-on-one support, helping students engage with their learning and develop independence, literacy and mathematics skills. If you have patience, creativity, and a compassionate disposition, we would love to hear from you!

- Based in Sidcup, this fantastic school is a friendly and well respected in the local community with students across the school ages 4-11.
- Pupils from Sidcup and across surrounding areas who attend this school are offered a broad and balanced curriculum, that is tailored around an extensive knowledge of their learning difficulties and tailored to them.
- Support and training offered every week to further develop your knowledge and skills as a PMLD teaching assistant for children with varied needs.
- You will be working with skilled Teachers and other PMLD Teaching Assistant's in a classroom environment
The PMLD Teaching Assistant Responsibilities
- Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils
- Promote pupil's independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
- Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement
- Support with planning, preparation and resourcing for lessons
- Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities
- Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school's policy and procedures
- Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment
The PMLD Teaching Assistant Applicant
The ideal PMLD Teaching Assistant applicant will be have the following qualities:
- Enjoyment of working with young people
- Will have experience working with students with with various SEN needs
- Sensitivity and understanding, to help build good relationships with pupils
- A commitment to getting the best outcomes for all pupils
- Comfortable with personal care
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times
- Commitment to safeguarding pupil's well-being and equality
- Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils and adults
- The ability to remain calm in stressful situations
