SEND Teaching Assistant - Bexley

I am currently recruiting an SEND Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will support students either one-on-one or in group settings throughout the school day. You will work with children aged 11-19 who have identified SEN needs. Your role will involve supporting pupils in the classroom, participating in specialist mentoring sessions, and assisting during some break times. The classes are made up of 8 -10 children and the classes are built up based on the needs of the children rather than the age. As a key member of the child's support team, you will collaborate closely with the SENCO, senior management, and external professionals such as therapists, healthcare providers, and CAMHS.

The school is a SEND school in the Bexley area, which is known for its flexible team and supportive SLT.

Job Responsibilities

  • Comfortable supporting pupils with various Learning Difficulties and EAL
  • Ability to engage and support pupils
  • Assist with personal care if needed
  • Supervising pupils' behaviour
