Day-to-day of the role:- Lead and manage the provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
- Develop and implement effective strategies to support students with SEMH needs.
- Coordinate and oversee the creation and review of individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to ensure the needs of all students are met.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with SEND, providing regular reports to senior leadership and parents.
- Provide training and support to staff on best practices for supporting students with SEMH needs.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and school policies related to SEND.
- Foster a positive and inclusive school environment that promotes the well-being and academic achievement of all students.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to work towards it.
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of SEND legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field are desirable.
