Principal Geotechnical Engineering

Approach Personnel are pleased to be working with a reputable Geotechnical Consultancy to recruit a Principal Geotechnical Engineer as part of their Northamptonshire based team.

This Principal role focuses around providing geotechnical support and to provide consultancy services to clients in a range of sectors. This position is perfect for a Senior or Principal Geotechnical/Geoenvironmental Engineer who is looking to take their next steps towards an exciting career with a well established and respected consultancy.

Day-to-Day

As a Principal Geotechnical Engineer, here’s what your day could look like:

  • Working to prepare and review hollistic risk assessments, technical reports, and strategies, in order to create exhaustive plans of works
  • Leading the geotechnical and geoenvironmental projects based out of the Northamptonshire office from project conception to completion, including the management of each contract and the team of engineers and consultants, and the mentorship and training of junior and graduate staff
  • Being a vital point of contact for clients regarding their projects, maintaining open lines of effective communication throughout each contract to ensure project objectives are met
  • Assist with business development, effectively communicate with clients, colleagues and outside agencies 
  • Writing and preparation of desk study assessments and reports

About You

  • Proven experience of at least 10 years in working for a consultancy based in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering, with a strong portfolio of successful projects
  • Chartered, ideally with an MSc in Geotechnical engineering
  • Computer and Geotechnical Software Literate
  • Full UK Clean Driving License and Willingness to Travel as part of the role
