Location: Silverstone
PURPOSE
To support rig build, maintenance and operation of equipment under your function area of the T&D department or others areas of the T&D workshop as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
- To work with your relevant Test Engineers, T&D Design Engineers and the Project Engineers to understand the requirements of rig build and operation work assigned to you.
- To use and update the job list, deadlines and deliverables for your test work to ensure that all objectives and test requirements are met on time.
- To understand assembly drawings and the nature of the car components to ensure correct assembly.
- To understand responsibilities within the function area and of the wider group.
- To provide feedback and suggestions for the design of new equipment and test rigs.
- To suggest improvements for methods for capturing data.
- To assist with strategic improvements in test methods, instrumentation and processes to improve test efficiency and data quality.
- To regularly feedback progress on your work to your Lead Engineer and Test Manager, confirming successful completions and highlighting risk areas or concerns as early as possible.
- To attend and participate in meetings as required.
- To contribute to the creation of workshop documentation in the form of processes, risk assessments and new starter guides.
- To maintain and develop skill levels to industry standard and maintain thorough and current working knowledge of test and development.
Skills & Knowledge Required
- Previous experience in a similar role in a motorsport environment
- Ideally demonstrate an understanding of sensors and data acquisition
- Ability to demonstrate creative, flexible and innovative solutions to problems.
- Possess a strong focus and be able to accept challenges from colleagues.
- Ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales.
- To have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a changing environment.
- To be self-organised. Possess commitment and proven reliability. Be self-motivated, enthusiastic and versatile.
