ROLE SUMMARY:

We are seeking to appoint a committed and dynamic teacher who can deliver inspirational lessons across all aspects of the Mathematics curriculum at KS3, KS4 and A-levels. 

The teachers in the department benefit from having their own classroom in which we teach all our lessons. We use several online resources to help assess and track the students’ progress across KS3 and KS4. All our resources are stored centrally using OneDrive and is constantly updated by the members of the department. Each member of the department monitors the progress a year group and ensures the intervention team is aware of the any students of concern.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will be required to be:

• able to use a variety of methods and techniques to engage, motivate, support and challenge students

• have an excellent rapport with students and be involved in the pastoral care of the school

• ensure that lessons are well-planned in accordance with the schemes of work for each course and individual student progression needs

• set and assess work in line with the School’s assessment policy which sets high expectations for students, providing positive and meaningful feedback which enables students to improve

• report accurately and honestly on progress in line with the School’s reporting schedules

• contribute to the raising of professional standards in the Math’s department, including the development of curriculum and schemes of work, keeping abreast of new developments and research and the sharing of good practice

• participate in the wider life of the School, including trips, activities and in boarding fulfil administrative duties in both an efficient and effective manner

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Applicants should have:

  • the ability to deliver Mathematics in an ordered and imaginative way. (A Level experience would be desirable, but not essential)
  • the ability to communicate ideas and information clearly
  • adaptability to a variety of teaching situations
  • good judgement in assessing work and pupils
  • decisiveness in classroom control
  • co-operation when working as part of a team
  • sense of humor
