Financial Controller | Sittingbourne | £70k - £80k

Cobb & Jones Recruitment are working exclusively with an impressive Kent-based Group, supporting them in their search for a new Financial Controller. This role is not suitable for established Financial Controllers or Heads of Finance, we are actively aiming to speak to people who would consider this their natural next step. We are happy to consider candidates who already operate as a Financial Controller, within a smaller organisation or with a smaller remit.

The Job - a newly created role born from the requirements of a growing team that need continuous support and development. Aside from the team management and leadership aspect, there is room for improvements across processes and daily actions, and with further acquisitions planned, new companies will need to be onboarded effectively.

Responsibilities:

Production of monthly management accounts

Maintenance of all key ledgers

Supervision of banking and cashflow

VAT processing

Review and maintenance of financial control environment

Oversee the Finance Team

Manage monthly financial reporting including the management accounts pack

Create/maintain all supporting schedules to the nominal ledger

Overall responsibility for sales, purchase and nominal ledgers

Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register and associated capital program monitoring

Contribute to the maintenance and review of the control environment through the ongoing review of financial policies and processes

Manage banking processes, oversee payments and cash flow forecasting

Liaise with auditors and other third parties regarding financial information

Reconcile and file VAT returns

Budgetary planning and forecasting

Profile:

Formally Qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), unfortunately for this role we cannot consider QBE profiles, regardless of experience.

Experience of creating reports to both operational teams and stakeholders to enable them to make the best business decisions.

Exposure to a variety of finance systems is essential, experience of working closely with an ERP system such as Oracle Netsuite, Dynamics / Navision / Business Central, SAP would be advantageous.

Absolutely must have some, even if limited, experience of management, must be able to demonstrate developing people, leading from the front and handling difficult situations.
