Unipet International have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join the team based in Sittingbourne, Kent on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum.

Unipet International are leading manufacturers of wild bird feed. This successful growing business now needs an experienced Management Accountant to provide effective management information and financial control. As a member of the SMT the Management Accountant will have involvement in developing the organisation at this exciting time.

The Management Accountant role:

As our Management Accountant, you will be responsible for all aspects of Unipet International Ltd's financial matters overseeing Sales ledger and Purchase ledger departments including credit control, cash management, and financial reporting to the business.

Key responsibilities of our Management Accountant:

  • Produce monthly management accounts including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries
  • Assist in the production of the annual budgets and periodic forecasting
  • Provide management reporting for decision-making, including project appraisal, evaluation and post-implementation analysis
  • Ongoing review of cash flow and production of forecasts
  • Produce annual statutory accounts in management accounts format
  • Calculation, presentation and payment of VAT
  • Negotiating on major projects, loans and grants
  • Manage capital expenditure
  • Report on company assets and liabilities including balance sheet account reconciliations and review of intangible assets
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations
  • Carry out continuous reviews of working accounting practices and processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations
  • Management of ledger clerks, including day-to-day communication and motivation as well as performance management
  • Producing regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Maintain the company focus on delivering a quality service through communication and education
  • Maintain a full understanding of the legal requirements required within the department and also within the business to be able to operate with full legal compliance

Skills and experience we are looking for in our Management Accountant:

  • Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 3 years experience
  • Proven technical ability
  • An understanding of modern management information systems
  • The ability to manage, delegate, motivate, monitor, and control team activity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels with both financial and non-financial management
