Reed are looking for a strong management accountant to join our client's team to support the Finance Director, the successful candidate will provide essential support to the finance director. We are seeking a Management Accountant to provide critical financial reporting and analytical support to our Finance Director.

Job Purpose: As a Management Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in monitoring and enhancing the financial analysis of projects, contributing to budgeting and forecasting processes, and supporting long-term financial planning. Your insights will be crucial in shaping the strategic direction of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, understand, and add value to the financial analysis of projects across the business.
  • Conduct Cost Value reconciliation data and Margin analysis monthly.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Director on annual budget and forecast processes.
  • Contribute to the development of a long-term financial plan (3-5 years).
  • Compile and analyse monthly financial results, providing commentary for stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain accurate project cash flow forecasts for both 13 weeks and rolling 12 months.
  • Maintain detailed monthly balance sheet reconciliations for project-related accounts.
  • Build strong relationships across the business to provide context to financial performance.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for business leaders, offering financial information to support decision-making.
  • Undertake other finance-related activities as directed by the Finance Director.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in Sage Line 50 or similar accounting software.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Commercially astute with a methodical mindset.
  • Qualified (AAT/CIMA/ACCA) or QBE.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and challenge decisions.
  • Experience in the construction industry is desirable but not essential.
