About Us:

We are a growing MEP contractor based in Kent, delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical services across sectors such as education, commercial office fit-outs, and residential developments. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an M&E Buyer to join our procurement team and help ensure the efficient sourcing of materials and services for our projects.

Role Overview:

As the M&E Buyer, you will be responsible for procuring mechanical and electrical materials, equipment, and subcontractor services, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining high quality. Working closely with the project and commercial teams, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and procure materials and equipment for M&E projects, ensuring value for money.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to ensure best value.
  • Raise purchase orders and monitor delivery schedules.
  • Collaborate with project teams to forecast material requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
  • Keep up to date with market trends and new product developments.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Buyer or Procurement role within the MEP sector.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical materials and equipment.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software.
